Here is the complete recipe for Chicken Piccata with Mushroom Cream Sauce:

Ingredients:

- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup mixed mushrooms (button, cremini, shiitake), sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup white wine (optional)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the chicken: Season with salt and pepper. Coat in flour, shaking off excess.
2. Sear the chicken: In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium-high heat. Add 2 chicken breasts and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown. Repeat with remaining chicken.
3. Make the mushroom cream sauce: In the same skillet, add remaining 1 tablespoon butter. Add mushrooms and garlic; cook until mushrooms release moisture and start to brown (3-4 minutes).
4. Add cream and wine (if using): Pour in heavy cream and white wine (if using). Bring to a simmer.
5. Thicken the sauce: Cook until sauce thickens slightly (2-3 minutes).
6. Finish with mustard and thyme: Stir in Dijon mustard and dried thyme. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
7. Serve: Place cooked chicken breasts on a plate. Spoon mushroom cream sauce over the top. Garnish with chopped parsley (if desired).
