Pan-Seared Kobe Beef

Ingredients:

- 12 oz (340g) Kobe beef striploin or ribeye, sliced into 1-inch (2.5cm) thick pieces
- 2 tbsp (30ml) vegetable oil
- 1 tsp (5g) sesame oil
- 1 tsp (5g) soy sauce
- 1 tsp (5g) sake (Japanese rice wine)
- 1 tsp (5g) sugar
- 1 tsp (5g) grated ginger
- 1 tsp (5g) garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh shiso leaves or sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat a skillet or grill pan to medium-high heat.
2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sake, sugar, ginger, and garlic.
3. Brush the Kobe beef slices with vegetable oil and season with salt and pepper.
4. Add the beef to the preheated pan and sear for 2-3 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness.
5. Transfer the beef to a plate and brush with the soy sauce glaze.
6. Garnish with shiso leaves or sesame seeds, if desired.
7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
